Safe Anchor Trust Ltd is an award winning charity providing trips on the waterways particularly for special needs groups, socially disadvantaged groups and those with health and mobility problems. The Trust runs three passenger boats, two of which have full wheelchair accessibility. ‘Safe Anchor Lady’, a boat specifically designed for passengers with special needs was completed by volunteers in 2010. A further easy access boat, ‘E Austen Johnson’ returned to service in 2012 following a complete refit. The Trust also owns a work-boat which is available for use by community canal-side projects.
